There are some things that you need before you begin the ADSL settings on a Netgear DSL modem router i.e. active internet connection by an ADSL account, Internet service provider configuration information for your ADSL account and ASDL micro-filters. The ISP set up is the main thing for your Internet account and you need one or more of these configuration parameters to connect your router to the internet and for the setup, you can also use www routerlogin net setup for Netgear router settings. Now let’s know the configuration you may need:
- Multiplexing method
- ISP login name and password
- Virtual Path Identifier or Virtual Channel Identifier parameters
- Host and Domain names
- Fixed or static IP address
- ISP domain name server address
You can ask your internet service provider if you don’t know about any of these parameters. For ADSL settings, there are two methods we can use i.e manual and smart wizard setup.
The manual setup set up your wireless ADSL modem router manually. If you are replacing an existing wireless ADSL modem router or are technically sound then this option is best for you. If you are using a computer that does not run Microsoft Windows then you need to use this option. By using www routerlogin net setup, you will know that ADSL technology uses the same wires as your telephonic service, ADSL adds signals to the telephone lines which create noise in the telephone service and you must use the ADSL filters to filter out these signals before they reach your telephone.
Use the smart wizard on the CD to assist you with setting up your wireless ADSL modem router; this is the easiest option in which CD guides you through the setup process step by step and verifying the necessary conditions. To use this option your PC should be running on Microsoft Windows 98SE or higher.
